What is Somatic Experiencing®?
Somatic Experiencing (SE)® is a body centered trauma therapy that focuses on releasing stored stress to restore balance to the nervous system in the here and now. Instead of processing trauma purely cognitively and unlike traditional talk therapy, we go into the body and track the physical sensations and impulses, emotions, inner images, thoughts and beliefs. By setting a curious, safe and well-resourced ground, the body can gradually discharge blockages so that a new feeling of aliveness and agency can gently unfold and settle in the body-mind experience. “The key to overcoming trauma is not to relive the trauma but to create new experiences in the body.” (Dr. Peter A. Levine, Creator of SE) What is my personal approach to SE? For me, SE is not only a technique, it's an approach towards life, learning "how to ride the waves" of our nervous system and becoming friend and loving companion to our wise bodies who intuitively know how to heal if there is a safe space for it. In the sessions I am curious about your body experience in the here and now, I offer you to be your companion, going with your sensations and staying present and open for whatever comes up, supporting your system so the waves (of sensations) find flow again and can settle in new, regulated, connected ways. This calm, inner state is precious and it's where our life force and resilience recharge.

Somatic Experiencing®is for you if: - you are very much in the head and want to connect to your body
- you are feeling overwhelmed by so many sensations, feelings or thoughts - you feel frozen and stuck - you don't really feel your body, you feel kind of numb - you experience (chronic) stress, pain, restlessness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, PTSD symptoms
- you want to help your body recover from a (un-)specific traumatic event (one-time, like an accident or long-term, like abuse, neglect, etc.) - you feel a longing for a deeper connection with yourself and the outside world
- you want to expand goodness and your native energy flow
How much is it? In the moment in my last year as a trainee I charge 65€*/session (about 60 min.).
How to start - get in touch! 1. FIRST APPROACH: In a first free phone call we get to know and hear each other or you just write me a message for a first SE session date request.
2. FIRST SE SESSION: In your first SE session you have time and space to feel into this technique and our connection and can decide afterwards if you want to start the process with a block of sessions.
3. SE PROCESS: In a process of regular sessions we can decide to work on a specific topic or go from session to session feeling what is present in the body in the here and now.
